Millionaire physician clinic described as ‘house of horrors’. A doctor in Philadelphia has been charged with eight counts of murder, including one woman and seven babies. Prosecutors say the babies were alive when the doctor reportedly killed them with scissors.
More than 24 fetuses were found at the offices of Dr. Kermit Gosnell, a gynecologist in West Philadelphia. Police were investigating a death of a woman who allegedly received an abortion procedure and just chanced upon these frozen fetuses in the jars.
According to District Attorney Seth Williams, state regulators ignored complaints and failed to visit the clinic since 1993. Women were subjected to squalid and barbaric conditions at Gosnell’s Women’s Medical Society, which was shut down last year. Gosnell has been named in at least 10 malpractice suits, including one over the death of a woman who died of sepsis and a perforated uterus.
Gosnell “induced labor, forced the live birth of viable babies in the sixth, seventh, eighth month of pregnancy and then killed those babies by cutting into the back of the neck with scissors and severing their spinal cord,” Williams said.
